Finding us

We're at the quiet end of an old harbour street, a five-minute walk from the nearest tram stop. Look for the dark wooden door with a small brass plate — there's no neon sign and we like it that way.

Address. Rantakatu 14, lower floor, by the side gate. Use the buzzer marked "B&S".

By tram. Lines 4 and 7, stop "Vanha satama". Walk west along the water for two minutes.

By car. Limited street parking on Rantakatu and Aallonkatu. The public car park at Satamatori (€3 for 3 hours) is a five-minute walk.

By bicycle. Racks immediately outside the side gate, under the canopy. Unlocked bikes have a way of disappearing — bring a lock.

Booking and walk-ins

Most weekday evenings, you can simply walk in. Saturdays and the Friday evening rush are the exceptions: we'd recommend calling ahead by lunchtime if you'd like a guaranteed slot. We don't have an online booking system — we used to, and our regulars asked us to take it down.

Group bookings (six or more) need at least 48 hours' notice. We'll happily reserve one of the two saunas for a private session in the late evening.

If you're new Tell the person at the desk it's your first time. We'll show you around, walk you through the lockers and showers, and answer questions before you go in. It takes ten minutes and saves you a lot of figuring-things-out-naked.

Contact

The desk picks up during opening hours. Outside opening hours, leave a message and we'll call back the next day we're open.

  • Phone. Posted on the front door — please don't rely on out-of-date listings online.
  • Email. desk [at] birch-and-stone [dot] example — replies within two working days.
  • Walk-in. Always welcome during opening hours, even for questions.

FAQ

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes. Single sessions and 10-visit cards. Available at the desk; we'll wrap them in brown paper and string if you ask nicely.

Can I bring a guest from out of town?

Of course. Mention it when you arrive — we'll give them the short orientation. The single-session ticket covers them.

Do you have showers and lockers?

Both. Lockers are coin-operated (€1 deposit, returned). Showers have soap dispensers; bring your own if you prefer something specific.

Is there food?

The café in the cool-down room serves hot drinks, cold drinks, fresh fruit, and one or two pastries baked locally. Nothing more elaborate. There are several proper restaurants within five minutes' walk if you're hungry afterward.

Can I host a small private event here?

Yes — birthdays, work team evenings, family gatherings. We do quiet events, not loud ones. Talk to the desk; we'll work out a quiet evening slot.
